The apparent inability of support staff to think critically makes me cry.

Petition opened 9/18/2009: Stuck in RO-DMM
Relogged twice, "Entereing system..." never finishes. Please move to UZ-QXW

Hi,
See if clearing your cache and settings folders helps, corrupt cache and settings files can cause ingame items and information being shown incorrectly or not at all. It can also cause players, ships and items to function improperly.

For this, you need to locate the following folder, assuming that you have installed EVE in the default location C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE : ( is C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE on 64bit versions of Windows )

Press Windows Key + R and paste the following line into the Run window.

Windows XP: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility
Windows XP Steam: %USERPROFILE%\Local SettingsLocal Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_steam_steamapps_common_eve_online_tranquility
Windows Vista: %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility
Windows Vista Steam: %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_steam_steamapps_common_eve_online_tranquility
Windows Vista 64bit: %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_(x86)_ccp_eve_tranquility
Windows Vista 64bit Steam: %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_(x86)_steam_steamapps_common_eve_online_tranquility

There you will find the cache and settings folders, rename/move both of them, in order to save them. Then relog and try again.

Do note that copying the settings folder or any of it's files back may cause your problems to resurface, this includes the prefs.ini file.

Renamed settings and cache folders; no change. Also, the character that created this petition () is on the same account (i.e. uses the same cache & settings folders) and has no trouble logging on.

Hi,

We are aware of the issue that you are describing. Our server administrators are currently working on this issue, and hopefully it will resolve shortly. Please keep in mind, as this an other systems in that area might be affected, we are currently unable to move you to a different system.

Thank you for your patience.

Will I receive another petition reply when this is resolved? Or do I get to try logging in every minute until it is fixed?
MailDeadDrop Sent - 9/18/2009 8:07:00 PM
And if you are aware of the issue I described, why did you have me remove the cache and settings folders?
MailDeadDrop Sent - 9/18/2009 8:51:00 PM
It has been over an hour since I submitted my "Stuck Character" petition and yet it remains unresooved. Please immediately move MailDeadDrop to GE-8JV (which should be sufficiently removed from the troubled region).

Hello,

The issue with the system should now be resolved and we recommend that you try logging in now.

The problem is *NOT* resolved. I still cannot get past the "Entering Game as MailDeadDrop" dialog.

Hello,

Have you tried logging completely out before attempting to log in again?

Yes, every time. Because once stuck, there's no way to cancel logon so I must shutdown client and restart it.

MailDeadDrop Sent - 9/18/2009 9:10:00 PM
And to restate: I have no trouble logging on another character (this one; ) on the same account. This *STRONGLY* implies that the problem is not with my client, but instead on CCP's server.

Hello,

We're sorry but we cannot move character out of an active combat zone. We recommend that you try logging in a little while.

Are you mentally handicapped? I CANNOT LOG IN. I will happily fight my way out, or die trying, if you'll fix your server. Barring that, move my character to a server where I *CAN* log in. It's simple really.

I request immediate escalation to a more senior GM.

So far, I'm completely unsatisfied with the petition responses.
